Water is the claim that grows fastest in Canadian commercial property — large water damage claims in high-rise buildings have tripled since 2013, and water claims overall have more than doubled since 2015. This business case puts a number on that exposure, and on the two levers that offset it: measured consumption savings, and per-tenant cost recovery that moves utility cost out of the landlord’s operating budget and onto the tenant actually consuming it.
